Memento — Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to delete your Memento account and the data associated with it.

Delete your account in the app

On the latest version of Memento, you can delete your account and all its data yourself:

1. Open the Settings tab.
2. In the Account section, tap Delete account.
3. Review the confirmation, which lists exactly what will be deleted, and tap Delete account.
4. If your account has an email/password or Google login, you'll be asked to confirm your identity (your password, or the Google sign-in) — a security requirement before an irreversible deletion.

This permanently deletes your account and its data — it is real deletion, not deactivation, and it cannot be undone. When it completes, the app returns to a fresh signed-out state.

No longer have the app? Request deletion by email

Send an email to realme87@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Memento account" and include:

• The email address associated with your account, if you added an email/password or Google login. If you never added a login, tell us that instead.
• If you can still open the app: the User ID shown in Settings → Account (a shortened id, tap/screenshot it as shown) — this lets us find your account precisely, even if you never added an email login.

If you no longer have the app installed and never added a login, we may not be able to locate your data without further information — in that case, reply to any follow-up questions from realme87@gmail.com.

What gets deleted

Whether in the app or by email, deletion removes:

• Your private birthdays and groups.
• Your account profile, username, and contact-code records.
• Your contact relationships and any pending contact requests.
• Your membership in any shared groups you belong to.
• Your Firebase Authentication account itself.

If you administer a shared group other people are members of: deleting your account deletes that group and its shared birthdays for every member — members lose visibility into that group's shared birthdays, and any local reminders for it are cleared the next time their app syncs. The in-app confirmation warns you about this before anything is deleted. If you'd rather hand off the group to someone else first, email realme87@gmail.com before deleting and we'll help coordinate it manually.

If you're only a member of shared groups administered by someone else, deleting your account removes your membership; the group and its other members are unaffected.
